THE LIBRARY

WELCOME TO OUR LIBRARY

/  PRINT RESOURCES

01

We have over 20,000 print sources in our library. These include magazines, newspapers, print encyclopedias, and atlases.

The library also houses THE SAMPLER, the BFUHS Yearbook. We have editions going back to 1934.

We also have a collection of books pertinent to Vermont. Please ask the Librarian if you need to use these.

/  ELECTRONIC RESOURCES

02

We have purchased many eBooks in the last few years. These can be accessed via the NOOK, which students must check out. We must have a form on file signed by the student and his/her parent in order for a student to sign out a NOOK. Please see Ms. Speranza for this form.

In some cases, we have the ability to lend eBooks which means a student can download a NOOk app to their phone, tablet or PC and access the book on loan from there.

Please see Ms. Speranza if you wish to read one of the libaray's many eBooks.

LIBRARY PROCEDURES

01

/  CHECKING OUT BOOKS & EQUIPMMENT

Stutents and staff can search for our resources from any computer. Just get to our Library Webpage and click the DESTINY link. This will show what resources the library has.

Books can be checked out for 3 weeks and can be renewed several times during the semester. If a book is overdue, the student is placed on the Library Obligations Due List which is sent out periodically. A fine will be imposed for any late/lost books.

/  LEARNING LABS

02

Students may come to the library from a learning lab, but only with a pass. They must present the pass to the librarian and sign in under the block they are there. Any student in the library without a pass, will be asked to leave.

Students should come to the library with the intent on using the library's resources and equipment. If a student can't find something, he/she should ask Ms. Speranza.

/  CLASSES

03

Teachers need to sign up to use the library or its computers. The sign up book is in the Library at the Circulation desk. Teachers are asked to stay with their classes when in the library.

03
